Café Gollem is one of Amsterdam’s most legendary beer cafés and a must-visit destination for lovers of Belgian and Dutch craft beer. Founded in 1972, it was among the first bars in the city to specialise exclusively in high-quality beers, long before the modern craft beer boom began.
The original and most famous location is tucked away in a small alley near Spui Square. This cosy brown café is known for its warm atmosphere, wooden interior and walls decorated with vintage beer memorabilia. With around 14 beers on draft and more than 200 bottled beers, Café Gollem offers an impressive selection ranging from classic Belgian Trappists to modern craft brews.
Over the years Café Gollem has expanded and now operates several bars across Amsterdam. In addition to the historic Raamsteeg location, you can also find Gollem cafés on the Amstelstraat, Overtoom, Daniël Stalpertstraat, and the scenic waterfront venue Gollem aan het Water near the Artis Zoo.
